Natürlich wird auch beschrieben, wer die Musik eingespielt hat: das Neuseeländische Symphonieorchester und das Londoner Philharmonische Orchester. Ein Verzeichnis aller Solokünstler (z.B. Enya von Clannad) und aller eingesetzten besonderen Instrumente fehlt ebenfalls nicht. Auf 401 Seiten ist damit alles Erdenkliche dokumentiert. Der Musikkritiker Doug Adams hat damit ein musikwissenschaftliches Werk vorgelegt. Dass die komponierte Filmmusik von Howard Shore fast Wagnersche Operndimensionen erreicht, beweist die beigefügte CD. Ähnlichkeiten zum Ring der Nibelungen mit Ausnahme der Gesangspartien bei Wagner sind diese viel heftiger, ausgeprägter und für Nicht-Wagnerianer nerviger sind wohl gewollt.
